Karnail Singh Sidhu

One of the Okanagan's most experienced and most talked-about organic grape growers, owns Kalala Organic Estate Winery, along with other family members. He is also a sought-after viticulture consultant and a winner of many wine awards including a recent Chardonnay du Monde Gold Medal for Kalala's Chardonnay Icewine. Karnail comes from a family in the Punjab that has farmed organically for decades, and was Summerhill Pyramid Winery's organic vineyard manager for 10 years.

Alan Marks Ph.D.

Alan is doing the creative and fine-finishing work on Kalala wines. He has made wine commercially since 1987 in the US and Canada, relocating to the Okanagan in 1994. His background includes a BS and MS degree in Agriculture with emphasis on incorporating new vineyard practices to maximize wine quality, and a Ph.D. degree in Food Science/Enology. He is the former winemaker at Summerhill Pyramid Winery, Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery and has consulted for numerous BC wineries during the last ten years.

Tibor Erdelyi

Tibor grew up in Serbia and has always been inspired by his uncle who was a winemaker. In 1989, Tibor immigrated to Canada to pursue his passion for food and wine. He has many years experience as a chef in many of the finest restaurants in Vancouver, Canada, and since moving to the Okanagan Valley, fully immersed himself in wine culture. Starting out as a retail and marketing manager for Summerhill Pyramid Winery, he began his winemaking career with Kalala Organic Estate Winery in 2008. His wines have competed and won international awards. Winemaking studies were completed at Okanagan College.

Ashish Dave Ph.D.

Dr. Ashish Dave is a leading-edge Research and Production Scientist in the field of Plant Biotechnology, heading the Research and Development division at Kalala Organic Estate Winery. Dr. Dave received his Ph.D. in 1995 from M.L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur, India. During his doctoral research career, he was awarded several research scholarships from Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. At Kalala, Dr. Dave is actively involved in optimizing the best cultural & pruning practices for production of superior quality organic grapes, irrigation management, evaluation of various natural plant extracts and nutrients on improvement in grapevine vigor, yield, and juice quality.
