Pacific Natural ® is the only Pacific fish based fertilizer that is a by-product of fresh processing for human consumption products - most competitors' products are digested using either extreme heat or acid, which denature inherent fish proteins; many fish based fertilizers use fish waste that is in early to advanced stages of decomposition, contributing to high odour and reduced effectiveness. Pacific Natural's N-P-K is 2-3-0. These numbers are deceiving. Many University research trials have demonstrated that chemically derived N-P-K fertilizers dissipate rapidly in the soil through gassing off or leaching out of reach of the intended target plants (at times into nearby waterways with detrimental effects). The naturally occurring organic oils, collagens and amino acids contained in Pacific Natural are retained in the soil. These properties provide a veritable feast of essential nutrients to stimulate microbial growth thus aiding in composting of organic materials required for development of healthy plants and crops with improved yields, appearance and flavour.
